Moving mountains; Weightlifting

As yall might have known I love to lift weights. My favorite lift is deadlift. Probably because thats the lift I can lift most on. Anyway, I think everyone should lift weights. Ill tell you why.

There is nothing like getting the bar set. Sliding on the plates, slippin on the guards so the plates dont slide off. And as you stand there looking at the bar. You see the width of the plates on each side. Thoughts run through your mind. Am I gonna be able to lift this? If I cant Im gonna be a failure. Well sometimes that might cross your mind. Anyway. You grip the bar, preparing for the lift. You go silent. Secretly thinking am I gonna be able to complete the lift. You get set. GO! Legs power upward, your grip is like a vice. But you stall out about 2 inches off the floor. You drop the weight!

Why did you do this? You doubted to much. That seems to be one of our biggest faults. Ive noticed we seem to think to much about our "boundries" or basically. What you think is gonna beat you. This is very normal though. Heres a good qoute;

"Courage is a hard thing to figure. You can have courage based on a dumb idea or a mistake, but you are not supposed to question adults or your coach or your teacher. Because they make the rules. Maybe they know the best or maybe they don’t. It all depends on who you are and where they come from. Didn’t at least the six hundred guys think of giving up and joining with the other side. I mean The Valley Of Death! That’s pretty salty stuff. That’s why courage is tricky, should you always do what others tell you to do. Sometimes you might not even know why you do something. I mean any fool can have courage. But honour, that’s the real reason you do something or you don’t. It’s who you are and maybe who you want to be. If you die trying for something important then you have both honour and courage and that’s pretty good..."

Courage. Thats what it all boils down to. Without courage(and God) you cant do anything. You can NEVER let fear scare you out of doing something. Lifting weights, asking a girl out. Doing whatever scares you. So back to the lift.

After you drop the weight you think youve failed the lift. So you decide to try one more time. You re-grip the bar. Get set. Lift! You thrust up. And in a split second you have completed your lift.

If you would have quit you wouldnt have moved the weight. With courage, and God. You can move mountains. BUT you have to except failure if thats what God wants for you. But with proper training. You have to expect results. No matter how big they are. Like in lifting weights. You can train for a month and gain 5 pounds on your lifts. You can train another month and you jump 20 pounds on all your lifts.

This is alot like life. Alot like faith. Anyway, dont be afraid! You wont be able to accomplish anything with fear.
